That unpredictability turns casual scrolling into a compulsive habit. One moment, you’re bored; the next, you’ve watched 20 short videos in a row. These algorithms aren’t just showing you what you like—they’re teasing you with what you might like. And that guesswork keeps us endlessly scrolling.
